Bertil "Bert" Johnson

   EAST WINDSOR — Bertil "Bert" Johnson, 63, died May 24.
   Born in Connecticut, he was a longtime East Windsor resident.
   Mr. Johnson was a computer programmer in the 1960s and later was director of the MIS Department for New York’s Human Resource Administration where he worked 30 years. He played a major role in seeing that the city’s systems were Y2K compliant, for which he was given an award by former Mayor Rudy Guiliani.
   While undergoing treatment for kidney cancer, he and his family were part of a documentary to help cancer patients understand the disease and work toward a cure.
   He was an Air Force veteran.
   He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patricia; a son, Dennis; a daughter, Lisa; a brother, Carl of Connecticut; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Anthony and Phyllis Saddler of Florida; and nieces and nephews.
   Funeral was Wednesday at Glackin/Saul Funeral Home, Hightstown, with the Rev. Robert Strohl officiating.
   Burial was in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
