Officials make appointments

   The Pennington Borough Council voted unanimously Monday night to appoint Kathleen O’Connor to the borough library board of trustees and Tom Griffin to the borough’s Economic Development Commission.
   Also by unanimous vote, Councilman David Garber was appointed council’s liaison to the Economic Development Commission and the Pennington Business and Professional Association.
   Mr. Garber, the council member in charge of public works, reported that Pennington’s water company pumped 7,781,000 gallons of water in June, an average of 262,000 gallons of day. This was 34,2000 gallons a day less than the daily average of 296,200 gallons in June 2001. A total of 8,907,000 gallons was pumped that month.
   Mr. Garber also reported that 74.97 tons of household trash were collected in Pennington last month, down from 83.78 tons in June 2001.
   Councilman Robert Di Falco reported that borough police made 176 motor vehicle stops in June, issuing 105 summonses, including one for driving while intoxicated. Seven males and two females were arrested in Pennington last month. No juveniles were arrested. Borough police investigated six cases of theft, one of passing bad checks and six of criminal mischief.
