WEST LONG BRANCH — Four new members, three of them alumni, have been elected to the Monmouth University board of trustees.

Charles T. Parton, a past chairman of the board, was named an honorary Life Trustee. Parton and his wife, Trudy, who live in Rumson, were honored at the university’s Scholarship Ball this spring for their many years of service to the college.

Alumni elected to the board of trustees were Marti S. Egger, class of ’81, of Fair Haven; Thomas A. Porskievies, class of ’82, of the Belford section of Middletown; and Deborah B. Larrison, class of ’94, Colts Neck.

The fourth new trustee is Michael Gooch of Rumson, who is a past member of the planning committee for Monmouth University’s annual Business Leaders Dinner.

"We value the deep commitment that these outstanding individuals have made to Monmouth University and its mission," said Rebecca Stafford, university president. "We are especially proud to see our alumni assuming leadership roles on the board."

Egger was elected as an ex-officio member to the board, where she will represent the alumni association. She is president of the Monmouth University Alumni Association and previously served as its vice president as well as on various committees. In her professional life, she is regional field manager for IMS Health Inc., a sales management and market research company located in Totowa.

Porskievies holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Monmouth University. He also served as president of the university’s alumni association and has served on the board of trustees in an ex-officio capacity since 1998. He works as director of systems integration at Telos Corp., Shrewsbury, which provides computer networking services and products.

Larrison earned a master of business administration degree from Monmouth University and was a member-at-large of the Institutional Advancement Committee of the board of trustees and a member of the planning committee for the university’s Business Leaders Dinner. She is employed as chief financial officer of American Strip Steel Inc., Kearny, which is one of the nation’s largest suppliers of steel studs to the construction industry.

GFI Group was one of seven firms that donated their total brokerage revenues generated in the United States last year to charities associated with helping victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Members who were re-elected to the board of trustees were Harry L. Bosco of Brick, Alfred L. Ferguson of Fair Haven, Charles J. Hesse III of the Leonardo section of Middletown, William J. Jeffery Jr. of Colts Neck and Timothy Mann of Orange Park.
