Mattes for community art project due Aug. 11

The community art project sponsored by the North Brunswick Department of Humans Services is well under way. The project is designed to pay tribute to the victims of Sept. 11. Project kits for community members are now available at the human services office, 710 Hermann Road.

The kit consists of a canvas; a 3.5-by-5-inch piece of framing matte in either red, white or blue; various materials; and a worksheet of decorating ideas.

Participants are asked to design the canvas and return the completed project to the office. When all mattes are designed, the department will connect them to form a larger mural.

Participants have until Aug. 11 to return the completed piece, with the final project to be unveiled at the township’s Sept. 11 commemoration ceremony.
