Millstone Charity Gala Sept. 28 at Frogbridge

The second annual Millstone Charity Gala is scheduled for Sept. 28 at the lakeside verandah and dining room at Frogbridge, Millstone.

Proceeds from the event will benefit local organizations within the township. This year the recipients will be the Millstone Township Community Alliance to Prevent Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, the Millstone Township Hospital Auxiliary, and the Middle After School Teens group (MAST).

Tickets are available for the first 300 guests at $125 per person. Entertainment at the event will be provided by the eight-piece orchestra Band Of Gold. Attire is black tie optional, and the evening will include a cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, open bar and a silent auction. Participants sought for Millstone talent show

Millstone Township Recreation will sponsor a talent show to be presented during Millstone Day, Sept. 22, at Frogbridge Day Camp, Millstone. Participation in the show is open to Millstone students entering grades 4-12 and of amateur status only.

There will be three categories — dance, vocal and instrumental — and three age groups, grades 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third place in each category and age group.

Applications are available at the recreation office between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. and at the following locations: the Perrineville post office, Clarksburg post office, Lakeside Gourmet, Clarksburg General Store, Roy’s Deli, Millstone Family Health and Gifts, and Vesuvio’s Ristorante and Pizzeria. All applications must be postmarked no later than Aug. 22.

Half-day summer camps offered in Millstone

Millstone Township Community Education has openings in its summer half-day camps for ages 7-12 in the theater camp, creative writing camp, cooking classes, modeling camp, "Mad Science" camp, "Rocket and Space" camp, and "Brains, Blood and Bones" camp.
