Veterans History Project partners with Brookdale

Brookdale Community College’s Center for World War II Studies and Conflict Resolution became an official partner of the Veterans History Project of the Library of Congress on July 22. The partnership became official following the granting of approval for acceptance.

Partners in the Library of Congress project include veterans and military organizations, libraries and archives, museums, oral history programs, universities, and civic organizations. All are cooperating organizations willing to commit resources to promote the Veterans History Project.

The Brookdale Center has taped 33 interviews with Central New Jersey World War II veterans. These and additional productions are scheduled for public viewing over the Brookdale cable system. Interviews conducted using other methods will be retained by the center for access and use by the college community and the public.

"The center is documenting firsthand accounts of our veterans’ experiences to ensure the legacy of World War II is available to future generations," said Paul Zigo, coordinator for the Center for World War II Studies and Conflict Resolution.
