OLD BRIDGE — Three juvenile males have been arrested and charged in a series of overnight tire slashings and puncturings that occurred on Alpha Avenue earlier this month.

Police arrested each of the juveniles, all of whom are residents of the Sayre Woods South area, at their homes last Thursday afternoon. All of the suspects, reported to be between 13 and 16 years old, were processed and released to the custody of their parents, said Old Bridge police Capt. Robert Bonfante.

Hearings for the three offenders will be held in juvenile court in New Brunswick at a later date, Bonfante said.

In early August, police reported that the tires of numerous vehicles were damaged during the nights of Aug. 1 and 4. Residents of the area also said tires were punctured on a third night, Aug. 2. The affected vehicles had been parked on residential driveways or along the street on Alpha Avenue between Harold Street and Bushnell Road.
