The eighth annual Shrewsbury 5k Classic will be held on Oct. 6 at Shrewsbury School. The 5K will be at 9 a.m.; the one-mile (any style) will be at 8:30 a.m.; and the kiddy dashes will be at 10:30 a.m.. Parking is available at The Grove. Get your running shoes ready for the 9th Annual Little Silver Classic/5K/Kids Run/Health Walk. The races, sponsored by the Little Silver PTO and the Red Bank Regional Booster Club, begin at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 22.
Applications can be picked up at the Running Store in Shrewsbury, Little Silver Borough Hall, Little Silver 7-11 and the Turning Point in Little Silver, Boulders Health & Fitness, Tinton Falls and Sneakers Plus, Red Bank. Participants can register on Friday, Sept. 20, 2 p.m.-5 p.m., at Little Silver Point Road School; Sept. 21, noon-4 p.m., at Red Bank Regional High School; or on Race Day at 7:30 am at Red Bank Regional High School. To receive an application by mail, call 732-219-6771. All race registrants will receive a long-sleeve race T-shirt. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top male and female overall finishers and post race refreshments will be available for all.
On Friday, September 20th, a Pre-Race Pasta Party is scheduled from 6pm-9pm at the Little Silver Firehouse. Admission is $10.00 for adults and $2.00 for children. For further information, call 732-219-6771.
