John Joseph "Jack" Leonard, 77, of formerly of Kendall Park, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, at home.
Born in Queens, Mr. Leonard lived in Kendall Park for 27 years and East Brunswick for 13 years before moving to Monroe two years ago. Mr. Leonard attended Pratt Institute for seven years. Prior to retiring, he was a Resident Construction Manager for Con Edison, Manhattan, N.Y., where he worked for 40 years. Mr. Leonard was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a communicant of St. Augustine of Canterbury R.C. Church in Kendall Park, and was a third degree member of the South Brunswick Knights of Columbus. Mr. Leonard was a past president of St. Augustine’s Holy Name Society.
His sister, Mary Grauwiler, is deceased. Mr. Leonard is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dorothy Grimes Leonard; three daughters, Nancy Williams and her husband, Tom, Lorraine Wallace and her husband, Ken, all of East Brunswick, and Christine Goff and her husband, Michael, of Spotswood and two grandsons, Ryan and Christopher Williams.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 25 at 9:15 a.m. in the Brunswick Memorial Home, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
