The Jersey Intensity 12U girls’ fast-pitch softball team is looking for a catcher and utility player for the upcoming season. The Intensity fast-pitch team is an ASA Junior Olympic softball program offering full-year instruction with winter indoor training, strength and conditioning programs, and spring, summer and fall tournaments. The following are the results of the Nick "the Quick" Werkman All-American Action Clinic on Oct. 17 at the McAuliffe School in Jackson. Jordan Novin won the hotshot contest with 42 points, followed by Mike Oleolewicz (40), Danny Neif (38), A.J. Elefronde (35), and Bryan Trent (30). Neif won the foulshooting contest, going 10-for-10, followed by Trent (9-10), Oleolewicz (8-10), Novin (7-10) and Elefronde (6-10). Neif was the camp’s Most Valuable Player.

The Lakewood High School track team will be holding a youth track clinic from 6-8 p.m. Nov. 23 at the LHS gymnasium.

The clinic is open to both boys and girls ages 7-14. The cost is $3. The event is sponsored by the Community School of Lakewood and will feature Lakewood High School track coach Jack Boylan.

Sprinting techniques, bounding, shot put and hurdles will be areas of focus at the one-night clinic.

The New Jersey Xplosion, a 12U baseball team, will be holding tryouts for all positions. The team is in need of at least five quality pitchers, left-handed pitchers are a plus. Serious, committed players needed to play according to full MLB rules. The team will begin training indoors for spring play and tournaments, including a trip to Cooperstown, N.Y.
