James E. Johnson
   James E. Johnson, 68, died Sunday at Jefferson Hospital, Philadelphia.
   Born in South Plainfield, he had lived in Hopewell Township for 56 years.
   Mr. Johnson retired in 1999 as the certified animal control officer of Hopewell Township, Hopewell Borough, Pennington Borough and East Amwell Township. He was a special police officer for Hopewell Township in the 1970s and was the owner of Johnson’s Country Esso and Johnson’s Truck Rental.
   A former captain of the Pennington First Aid Squad, Mr. Johnson was honored for 25 years of service with the squad and for responding to more than 1000 first aid calls. He was also a past president of the Ryder Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and playing Santa Claus for children at Christmas,
   Son of the late James R. and Nettie R. Johnson, he was predeceased by his son, James Herbert Johnson, and his grandson, Joseph Ryan Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Weiss Johnson; his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jaime Johnson of Hopewell Township; his daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Scott Duncan of Columbus, Ga., Deborah and Richard W. Smith Sr. of Hopewell Borough, Denise Hyndshaw, Connie and Thomas Roman and Danielle and Charles Sprague, all of Hopewell Township; Barbara and Kenny Stahley and Victoria and Donald Gilbert, all of Browns Mills; and Dawn and fiancée Bryan Fortunato of Naugatuck, Conn.; grandchildren Laurie Ann Johnson, Sarah and David Duncan, Richard and Judith Smith, Anthony and Jennifer Roman, Charles, Charis, Katherine and Timothy James Sprague, Kenneth Stahley, Shannon Driber and Jamie Gilbert; his sister and brother-in-law, Roberta and Stephen Silvestri of Hopewell Borough; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Patricia Johnson of Chatham, N.Y. and Samuel Johnson and Debbie of Easton, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. James Church, 12 E. Delaware Ave., Pennington, followed by burial in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Hamilton. Calling hours are 6-9 p.m. Friday at Blackwell Memorial Home, 21 N. Main St., Pennington. Pennington First Aid Squad will hold services at 7:30 p.m.

Wayne R. Lowe
   Wayne R. Lowe, 68, died Sunday at home.
   Son of the late Josiah A. and Eliza Crum Lowe, he was a lifelong resident of Hopewell.
   Mr. Lowe was an Army veteran of World War II. He owned and operated Hopewell House Liquors and Lowe Brothers Texaco for many years and was a foreman with Princeton Nurseries, retiring after 18 years.
   He was a member of Hopewell Valley American Legion Post #339 and the National Rifle Association.
   Mr. Lowe is survived by his wife, Sally Spurdle Lowe; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lynn and John Dupuis of West Amwell Township and Sandy and Jason Miller of Hopewell; three brothers, Raymond Lowe, Wilbur Lowe and David Lowe; and two granddaughters, Amy Elizabeth Dupuis of West Amwell and Sydney Lauren Miller of Hopewell.
   The funeral will be private under the direction of Garefino Funeral Home, Lambertville.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Princeton Hospice, 208 Bunn Drive, Princeton, 08540.

Win Ann Young
   Win Ann Young, 73, died Friday in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton.
   Born in Pennington, she was a longtime resident of Hamilton.
   She graduated from Cathedral High School and was a member of Mensa. She had been a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish since its founding. She had worked for NJ Bell Telephone Company and the NJ Department of Higher Education as an investigator until her retirement in 1997. She was a freelance artist with paintings displayed in Mercer and Bucks counties.
   Daughter of the late Ivan and Anna Marie Fearen and friend of the late Emma Wyckoff , she is survived by her daughter and her daughter’s fiancé, Victoria A. Young and Steven J. Storey; a brother and sister-in-law Ivan and Georgie Fearen; a sister-in-law Beverly Robertson; nieces Ivy and Sandra Fearen, Smokie Janiuk and Cheryl Ann Ryan; four nephews Kenny, Wayne, Steve and Gary Pae; many great nephews and a niece; her best friends Dolores Miller and Helen Conover and her dog "Yoyo."
   Liturgy of the Mass was celebrated Tuesday in Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, Hamilton.
   Interment was private.
   Arrangements were by Blackwell Memorial Home, Pennington.
