New Year

The Jackson Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 4703, 54 Magnolia Dr., will hold its annual New Year’s Eve Party on Dec. 31 at the post home.

Tickets are $25 per person and will include DJ music, a full hot and cold buffet, snacks, open bar, champagne toast and party favors. Doors will open at 8 p.m. to ticket holders only. Open bar and music will start at 9 p.m. and continue until at least 1 a.m. For tickets or information call (732) 928-0077.

New Egypt Elks to host

child ID program

The New Egypt No. 2457’s Handicapped Children’s Committee and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department will sponsor a Child ID Program on Jan. 19 from 1-4 p.m. at the lodge, 105 Lakewood Road, New Egypt.

Identification cards will be issued between 1-4 p.m. Children will be measured, weighed and have their photo taken for laminated identification cards which will be provided free of charge.

The wallet size cards will feature important information such as their doctor’s name and telephone number and, if known, blood type. In the event that the child was ever lost, parents and authorities could take prompt action with up-to-date information.

Also that day, members of the Handicapped Children’s Committee will be preparing meatball and sausage sandwiches for sale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. These may be eaten at the lodge or taken to go. For more information call (609) 758-8563, (609) 758-3444, or (609) 758-8700.
