FREDERIC E. BORDI, 67, of Matawan died Dec. 16 at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided in the Bronx, N.Y., and Howell before moving to Cheesequake Village, Old Bridge, four years ago. He earned his nursing degree after retirement, and was employed at Victoria House, Matawan, and Madison Center, Old Bridge. Prior to that, he was a controller at Meadows Wye Inc., Staten Island, N.Y., for 25 years, retiring in 2000. He served as a specialist 3rd class in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Michelena Fostini-Bordi of Matawan; two sons, Frederic Bordi of Morrisville, Pa., and Gus Bordi of Hackettstown; two daughters, Elena Bordi of Ocean, and Ann Hunt of Keyport; a sister, Marie Lever of Waynemart, Pa.; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be Dec. 18 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Dec. 19 at 10 a.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, Old Bridge. VINCENT J. MAZZEO, 75, of Highlands died Dec. 14 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Barnegat and in Middletown for 26 years before moving to Highlands three years ago. Mr. Mazzeo was an usher at Monmouth Park Racetrack, Oceanport, since 1988. Prior to that, he owned and operated Harry’s Luncheonette, Long Branch, for 20 years, retiring in 1988. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rosemary Bevacqua Mazzeo; his son, Vincent J. Mazzeo Jr. of Manasquan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judith M. and David Zacchi of Manasquan, and Lisa I. and Michael Aldorasi of the Belford section of Middletown; his sister, Josephine Zoppi of Long Branch; two brothers, Patrick Mazzeo of Toms River and Ralph Mazzeo of Old Bridge; and four grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, followed by burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
ALICE E. DORSEY, 89, of Red Bank died Dec. 12. Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. Dorsey resided in Manahawkin and North Plainfield before moving to Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husbands, Paul Strube and Joseph R. Dorsey. She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Joseph R. and Jan Dorsey Jr. of Red Bank, and Michael F. Dorsey of Germantown, Md.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Alice and William Murphy of Hoboken, and Bobbi and Thomas Heteji of North Plainfield; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. PAZ MUNITA VINEGRA, 81, of Sea Bright, died Dec. 11 after a brief illness. Born in Santiago, Chile, she came to the United States in 1951 and moved to Sea Bright in 1990. A college graduate at age 61, Mrs. Vinegra taught English and Spanish in the Elizabeth school system, as well as English to underprivileged children at home. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson, where she was a Eucharistic minister; and Immaculate Conception Church of Elizabeth. She was an active volunteer for various libraries, as well as for the homeless. Her memberships included the Monmouth Chapter of the N.J. Symphony Orchestra, the Monmouth County Spanish Club, the Monmouth County Association of University Women, and the Monmouth Beach Cultural Club. Mrs. Vinegra is survived by her husband of 47 years, Victor V. Vinegra; two sons, Joseph Vinegra of Oceanport and Victor E. Vinegra of Garwood; her daughter, Michelle McNellis of Garwood; two brothers, Claudio Munita and Julio Munita, of Chile; two sisters, Ruth Munita of Chile and Carmen Schlecter of Bridgewater; and four grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Holy Cross Church, followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery, Middletown. JOSEPH X. SEAMAN, 74, of Little Silver, died Dec. 12 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Perth Amboy, he lived there prior to moving to Little Silver 46 years ago. Mr. Seaman was a partner and certified public accountant at Seaman and Co., Perth Amboy, for more than 40 years. He was a communicant of the Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven. He held licenses as a certified government finance officer and certified tax collector, and served several municipalities and school boards, primarily in Monmouth County. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara L. Seaman; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Patricia Seaman of Alexandria, Va., Karen and Gervaise Donnelly of Tinton Falls, and Diane and Michael Simays of Glenmoore, Pa.; his son, Thomas X. Seaman of Fair Haven; his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Henry P. Wickham of Springfield, Ohio; his sister-in-law, Mary Meyer; and eight grandchildren. DOUGLAS R. VANDERBILT, 81, of Middletown died Dec. 3 at home. He was devoted to his family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Forsyth. He is survived by his children Christine, Kim, Douglas, Kip, Lori, Chad, Peter and Bob Vanderbilt; his daughters-in-law, Julie and Gail; one son-in-law, Tony; and four grandchildren.
