The deadline for filing nominating petitions to appear on the ballot for the 2003 annual school election is Feb. 24, with the election scheduled for April 15.
The New Jersey School Boards Association urges residents interested in education to consider school board candidacy, and has produced a "School Board Candidate Kit" for interested residents.
The kit includes information on the requirements for school board candidacy, a calendar of important dates in the school election process, and a sample nominating petition.
It also provides information about the New Jersey School Ethics Act.
