CARRIE V. "NETTIE" MISKIN BURKONSTOCK, 85, of Spotswood died Feb. 10 in Care One, East Brunswick. She served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army Women’s Army Corps during World War II. Surviving are her husband, Joseph A. Burkonstock, and a nephew, Harry Trenery of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge. Arrangements were under the direction of Eckman Funeral Home, Spotswood.

SALVATORE C. AVERSANO, 63, of Freehold Township, formerly of Spotswood, died Feb. 17 at home. Surviving are his wife, Lucy; a son, Salvatore of Freehold; and a niece and four nephews. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township. Interment was in Brookside Memorial Park, Spotswood.

JOSEPH J. HARAZ, 74, of Spotswood died Feb. 25 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Catherine Garage Haraz; two sons, Gary Haraz and Joseph Haraz, both of Spotswood; a brother, Robert of Barefoot Bay, Fla.; a sister, Florence Biacindo of Spotswood; and two grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. JOHN N. "JACK" HERRICK, 45, of South River, formerly of Spotswood, died Feb. 26 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was an architect with Venezia and Associates, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Susan Goldenbaum Herrick; a son, Jonathan Noel, and two daughters, Heather Nicole and Lauren Michelle, all at home; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Goldenbaum of Trenton; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

TADEUSZ LATO, 56, of South River died Feb. 26 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his companion, Jadwiga Wyszynska Lato; three daughters, Marianna Wyszynska of South River and Urszula and Wioleta Lato, both of Poland; a son, Antoni Wyszynski of South River; and three grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.

PETER S. PALADINI, 81, of East Brunswick died Feb. 28 at home. Surviving are his wife, Florence Mancuso Paladini; two sons, Rene of Flemington and Vincent of Alexandria, Va.; two daughters, Lorraine Viscovich of Mountain View, Calif., and Maryann Paladini-Price of Fort Washington, Pa.; and six grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y.

KATARYNA TROICKI, 77, of South River died Feb. 26 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Porfiri Troicki, died in 2001. Surviving are a daughter, Irene McDonnell of the Basking Ridge section of Bernards; a son, Michael Troicki of South River; and four grandchildren. A service was held at St. Euphrosynia Belarus Orthodox Church, South River. Interment was in the church cemetery.

GEORGE BARKAUSKAS, 60, of Old Bridge, formerly of East Brunswick, died March 3 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are his wife, Violet Varjassy Barkauskas; a son, David of Tampa, Fla.; a daughter, Sharon Stefanoni of Beach Haven Park; four sisters, Priscilla McConnell, Joan Cerep and Patricia Corcoran, all of Scranton, Pa., and Elizabeth Gedrimas of Lyndhurst; two grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A Mass is planned for 10 a.m. on March 7 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Private cremation will follow. JOHN F. "JACK" CONOVER, 61, of Spotswood, formerly of Old Bridge and Sayreville, died March 1 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. His wife, Carmen L. Conover, died in 1991. Surviving are a son, Christopher Conover of Ambridge, Pa., and a daughter, Dawn Brunotte of Brick. Services were under the direction of Eckman Funeral Home, Spotswood. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. KATHLEEN "KITTY" GAUNT, 71, of Milltown, formerly of Hazlet, died Feb. 24 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Joseph A. Gaunt Jr., died in 1995. Surviving are two sons, Michael Gaunt of the Lawrenceville section of Lawrence and Thomas Gaunt of Old Bridge; four daughters, Karen Gaunt-Lewis of Lambertville, Elizabeth Gzemski of Broken Arrow, Okla., Joyce Gaunt of Howell and Joan Horvath of Old Bridge; a sister, Dorothy Mehm of Milltown; a brother, Robert Mehm of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and nine grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Milltown. Interment was in Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick. ANNE MARIE NOVAJOSKY HALLORAN, 75, died Feb. 27 in Western Wake Medical Center, Cary, N.C. Her husband, Robert J. Halloran, died in 1995. Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Halloran of East Brunswick and Doreen Nelson of Cary; three sisters, Mary August, Joan Gyuriska and Carol Grega, all of Dunmore, Pa.; and three grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment was in the church cemetery.

RITA N. VanHART SCULLY, 83, of South Amboy died Feb. 28 in Regency Park Nursing Center, Hazlet. Her husband, William A. Scully, died in 1993. Surviving are three stepsons, William Scully and James Scully, both of South Amboy, and Richard Scully of Monroe; and three cousins, Leo Kelly and William Kelly, both of Sterling, Va., and Ed Kelly of Maitland, Fla. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy, Entombment was in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, also South Amboy.

JOSEPH R. MONTANO, 76, of Old Bridge died Feb. 28 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Cynthia Ann Steel Montano; two sons, James of Jackson and Andrew of Freehold; two daughters, Elizabeth of Cranbury and Carol Jacobs of New York City; and five grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover.

CATHERINE KOLODZIEJ BULMAN, 88, of South Amboy died Feb. 27 in Carriage House Manor, Sayreville. Her husband, Francis W. "Hank" Bulman, died in 1986; a son, Robert, died in 1997; and a granddaughter, Ashley Bulman, died in 1989. Surviving are three sons, Joseph J. Bulman of Piscataway, William F. of Farmingdale and F. Regis of Voorhees; two daughters, Kathleen Kennedy of South Amboy and Maureen Bulman of Hamilton; a daughter-in-law, Susan Bulman-Ditchkus of the Avenel section of Woodbridge; and seven grandchildren. LORETTA M. DAWE, 59, of Cliffwood Beach, formerly of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge, died Feb. 24 at home. Surviving are her mother, Marie Muratore Cannule of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a daughter, Jennifer Kouri of Cliffwood Beach; two sons, Kenneth Dawe of Cliffwood Beach and Kevin L. Dawe of Homesdale, Pa.; a sister, Frances Nastasi of Brooklyn; and two grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport.

WILLIAM M. HAUG, 49, of South Amboy died Feb. 25 in University Hospital, Newark. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Cattano Haug; two daughters, Amy and Lindsey, both at home; his mother, Violet Glennon Haug of Archer, Fla.; a brother, James Haug, and a sister, Colleen Andersen, both of Archer. Services were held at Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy. Cremation was private.

HELEN BUTZKO ADAMIEC, 76, of Old Bridge died Feb. 28 at home. Her husband, Thomas Joseph Adamiec, died in 1994. Surviving are a son, Mark Adamiec of Old Bridge; a daughter, Ann Marie Wroblewski of Old Bridge; a brother, Joseph Butzko of Perth Amboy; a sister-in-law, Ethel Butzko of Matawan; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
