for the record

In a March 6 article titled "Council Changes Course on Allowing Dog Service," the Sentinel incorrectly reported on the number of dogs that are taken in by Helmetta resident Gail Drysdale on behalf of the St. Bernard Rescue Foundation. Drysdale, who has eight licensed dogs she keeps as pets, said that at any given time she has had between one and four dogs that were rescued and awaiting adoption. She noted that she did have 17 dogs on one occasion because she had temporarily provided shelter for a mother dog and her eight puppies who were previously in danger of being euthanized. The story also indicated that Drysdale’s neighbors had complained about nuisance issues related to the number of animals, but Drysdale noted that she has not been cited for a violation due to noise, odors or health issues.
