Discount tickets offered

for St. Stan’s Carnival

Discount advance tickets will be offered for rides at the St. Stan’s Carnival, set for June 25-28 on the St. Stanislaus Kostka parish grounds, MacArthur Avenue and Main Street, Sayreville.

Advance tickets cost $10 for a 15-ticket sheet (a $6 savings) and will available beginning May 17 after all Masses, at the parish office and at:

• Foodtown of South Amboy, Bordentown Avenue, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 17;

• ShopRite of Sayreville, Washington Road, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 31;

• Sayreville Seafood and Deli, Washington Road, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 14;

• St. Stan’s School, 10 a.m. to noon on June 21.

Police, firemen to play

benefit basketball game

The Sayreville Police Department will face off against the Sayreville Fire Department in a fund-raising basketball game set for 3 p.m. on May 18 in the St. Stanislaus Kostka School gym, 225 MacArthur Ave., Sayreville. Proceeds will benefit the David Christopher Miller Cerebral Palsy Fund at Methaney and Melanie Good, a St. Stan’s student diagnosed with leukemia.

The event will feature live music, raffles and refreshments.

Donation is $5 for adults, $3 for children in eighth grade and under. Advance tickets are available from Connie Modzelewski at (732) 651-6391 or the church office at (732) 254-0212. Tickets also will be sold at the door.

SWMHS Marching Unit

sets May 15 open house

The Sayreville War Memorial High School (SWMHS) Marching Unit will hold an open house for prospective band and color guard members at 6 p.m. on May 15 in the school cafeteria, Washington Road.

Interested Sayreville Middle School students and their parents are invited to attend.

The marching unit will perform in the fall at Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, and at Walt Disney World, Orlando, Fla.
