Search is on for new certified municipal clerk and chief financial officer.

At a special meeting held May 19, Hopewell Borough Council hired Pete Rayner of Skillman as a consultant to take over the job of Hilary Fortenbaugh, who resigned recently as clerk and chief financial officer.
Mr. Rayner will serve in these capacities until Hopewell officials hire another certified municipal clerk and chief financial officer. Mr. Rayner said Tuesday he wasn’t sure when that would be.
Mr. Rayner served as administrator for Montgomery Township, Somerset County, from 1980-1998. He also served a stint as administrator for Hopewell Township for a period during 1999-2000, as a temporary replacement for the former administrator, Richard G. Van Noy.
Mr. Rayner is being paid $75 an hour for his work.
