Volunteers needed for various local agencies

The Volunteer Center of Monmouth County needs volunteers in Red Bank to help with cleanup July 12. Volunteers will clean up debris in parks and the downtown area, pull weeds, remove stickers from signs, and other duties. Refreshments will be provided.

A Monmouth County social services agency needs individuals to sort and bag items for use by home health aides one to two days per week. An agency that assists the physically challenged needs aides for its Shrewsbury office to answer phones, and assist with mailings, and database entry.

A Red Bank youth ministry needs volunteers during August to teach contemporary dance to girls age 14-17. A gospel music teacher is also needed to teach and rehearse new vocal music to children. The ministry also needs bus drivers for youth classes, field trips and special activities. LCD licenses and excellent driving records are required.

The ministry needs individuals to provide support in coordinating youth activities and classes, and tutor/mentors to conduct weekly sessions with students, review and utilize materials provided, and work with parents and teachers to monitor progress or problems in reading and math.

A Monmouth County-based transitional house for women with children needs volunteers to perform general yard work, and painters to scrape, sand, spackle and paint area homes. A free public library in Monmouth County needs volunteers to help organize and inventory a local history collection.
