ACCOUNTING
   
   Withum Smith & Brown, certified public accountants and consultants in Princeton, announced the promotion of Carl Dobes and Scott Mariani, both members of the firm’s tax department, to shareholders.
   Mr. Dobes joined the firm as a tax manager in 1994 and was promoted to director of tax in 1998.
   Mr. Mariani joined the firm in 2000 and specializes in providing tax advice to integrated health-care delivery systems, hospitals, long-term care facilities, physicians’ groups and other nonprofits.
   Mr. Dobes is based in the firm’s Princeton office and Mr. Mariani is based in Livingston.

   Barry Snyder, managing partner of Klatzkin & Company of Hamilton, has recently been installed as vice president of the Mercer Chapter of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants for a one-year term. Mr. Snyder joined the NJSCPA in 1984. In the Mercer Chapter he has served as treasurer and board member-at-large. He has been with Klatzkin & Company for over 28 years.
   The firm also announced that staff accountant Michelle Robb recently passed the CPA exam. Ms. Robb is a resident of Allentown and has been with the company for two years. She is a graduate of the College of New Jersey.

   Amper, Politziner & Mattia, certified public accountants and consultants, has announced the following new senior accountants in its Princeton office: Marc Fogarty, in the firm’s accounting and auditing department, represents mid-sized clients in the manufacturing and service industries. Rupal Shah works in the firm’s estate planning group. Ms. Shah’s areas of responsibility include estate and succession planning, partnership taxation and planning, corporations and nonprofit organizations. Elizabeth Skora provides audit, accounting, tax and consulting services.

INVESTMENT
   Geller Investment Partnership Services in New York announced recently the appointment of Princeton resident Stephen Skoczylas as a managing director of the firm.
   Mr. Skoczylas brings a distinguished record of accomplishment in the field of private equity, according to a Geller statement. Prior to joining Geller & Company, he was the CFO of J.P. Morgan Partners global private equity fund and also the CFO of their Latin American fund. He began his 19-year career at J.P. Morgan in 1983 and held a number of senior positions, including head of the finance division’s internal controls unit, CFO of the firm’s Paris office and CFO of its equities and equity derivatives business.
   Mr. Skoczylas also worked at KPMG in Boston for five years, providing accounting, tax and consulting services to privately owned companies.
   The investment partnership services division of Geller & Company offers its clients services including administrative, finance, accounting and tax outsourcing solutions.

TECHNOLOGY
   
   The New Jersey Technology Council CFO Hall of Fame Award was presented to Sidney D. Rosenblatt, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Universal Display Corp., a leading developer of Organic Light Emitting Device technology.
   The NJTC’s CFO Awards honor the accomplishments of financial executives representing New Jersey’s diverse technology industries. The Hall of Fame Award, for which Mr. Rosenblatt was honored, is presented to a current or former CFO for multiple achievements. Mr. Rosenblatt has been executive vice president, chief financial officer, treasurer and secretary of Universal Display Corp. since June 1995. He has also been a member of the board of directors. In addition to his employment with Universal Display, he is the owner of and served as the president of S. Zitner Co. from 1990 through December 1998. He also served as the senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer of InterDigital.

   Debra J. Grady has been designated director of marketing for WorldWater Corp. She will manage all international and domestic corporate marketing activities, including advertising, promotion and public relations, and coordinate the marketing activities of the sales staff.
   WorldWater is a solar engineering and water management company located in Pennington that has developed a patented technology to power pumps and motors up by solar or in hybrid combination with the electric grid.

   Sarnoff Corp., the Princeton-based technology development and innovation services company, has announced the following promotions:
   Dr. Alan M. Braun of Lawrenceville to technology leader, monolithic photonics. Dr. Braun holds two patents in his field, and has authored or co-authored over 20 technical publications. He currently leads multiple Sarnoff projects to develop advanced technologies for photonic sampling, chip-scale atomic clocks and optical telecommunications components.
   Dr. Joseph H. Abeles of East Brunswick to technical director, optoelectronics. Dr. Abeles holds 14 patents in his field. He is an inventor of broadened waveguide epitaxy, a technique used throughout the industry for high-power commercial lasers, and for other important innovations in diode lasers and amplifiers. His work has attracted government funding in communications, navigation, radar, imaging and radio frequency. Dr. Abeles has also been active in the formation of several commercial ventures in his field, including one laser products company.

BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS
   
   The Mercer chapter of the New Jersey Association of Women’s Business Owners installed its new board of directors at a recent dinner meeting.
   The new members of the board include Terry Petry, the vice president of corporate relations of the firm Mercer County & Burlington County Woman Newspaper; Lisa Harrah, immediate past president of the firm Harrah & Associates; Linda Gardener Esq., vice president of member services; Granzina Crisman, vice president of finance from the firm The Productivity Shoppe; Lynn McDougal Esq., president elect; Lisa Snyder, president from the firm Kistler Tiffany Benefits; Josephine Giaimo, vice president of marketing from the firm Morphlt; Linda Principe, vice president of public policy of Linda Principe Interiors; Arlene Schragger, vice president of corporate relations from the firm ads Public Relations & Marketing, and Amanda Puppo, the vice president of programming from MarketReach Inc.
   NJAWBO is the largest statewide women business-owners organization in the United States with approximately 1,000 members in 13 chapters throughout the state of New Jersey. The organization’s primary objective is to support and encourage business ownership by women.
   The organization also recently presented the 2003 Nancy C. Righter Award to Lawrenceville business owner Susan Guarneri and the Business Woman of the Year Award to Roseland business owner Marlene J. Waldock.
   A six-year member of NJAWBO’s Mercer Chapter, Ms. Guarneri was honored for her active involvement in the organization, including serving the chapter in programming and as Web master. Her company, Guarneri Associates/E-BizMagic, provides services in web design/hosting, e-commerce, e-marketing and professional business writing.
   Ms. Waldock, a member of NJAWBO for eight years, was honored for her professionalism, drive, volunteer support and communications awards for chapter newsletters. A nationally published writer, and 20-year veteran public speaker who often appears at conventions, her articles have appeared in Family Circle Magazine, The New York Times, Business News New Jersey and Garden State Woman.

   Melaine Willoughby has joined the New Jersey Business & Industry Association as Senior Vice President for Government Affairs. NJBIA is the nation’s largest statewide employer association. Ms. Willoughby’s primary responsibility is management of the association’s government affairs department.
   Before joining NJBIA earlier this month, Ms. Willoughby served for 18 years as president and CEO of the New Jersey Retail Merchants Association, the statewide retail business organization. Prior to joining the New Jersey Retail Merchants Association, Ms. Willoughby was assistant vice president for marketing with NJBIA.

   Mike DeRuosi was recently named Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association. Mr. DeRuosi is currently president of the household, personal care and industrial ingredients division at Rhodia, Inc. in Cranbury.

   Loraine Huchler of Lawrenceville has been elected to a two-year term as President of the Institute of Management Consultants, New Jersey Chapter. Ms. Huchler has been a member and officer of IMCNJ for the past five years. She is president and CEO of Martech Systems Inc., a management consulting firm that optimizes operations in industrial and commercial facilities of Fortune 500 companies in North and South America.
BANKING
   The 1st Constitution Bancorp of Cranbury announced the appointment of Antonio Cruz Esq. to its board of directors of 1st Constitution Bank, its primary banking subsidiary.
   Mr. Cruz is the principal attorney of the Law Offices of Antonio L. Cruz located in Perth Amboy, N.J. He has been practicing law for over 20 years in the areas of real estate, banking and general litigation. Previously, he served as a general counsel to the Perth Amboy Board of Education and has represented a number of financial institutions as a review attorney in both residential and commercial real estate law.
   Due to his many years of experience as an attorney, he is regarded by 1st Constitution as an expert in those areas of law. Mr. Cruz is also a leader of the Hispanic community as a member of the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey on which he served as a member of the board of trustees for many years. A graduate of Rutgers University, he received his juris doctor from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston. Mr. Cruz lives in Holmdel with his wife, Zaida, and three sons.

   Lucia Dougan Kelly has joined First Washington State Bank as a mortgage originator. She is responsible for originating residential mortgages and construction loans, as well as refinancing current mortgages. Ms. Kelly has more than 15 years in the mortgage business.

   Yardville National Bank Executive vice president and chief operating officer Timothy Losch has been selected by the Boy Scouts of America’s Central New Jersey Council to receive the 2003 Distinguished Citizen Award. Each year the award is presented to the individual who "exemplifies in their daily life the ideals of the Boy Scouts of America as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law. The recipient is chosen for their outstanding character, citizenship, and personal fitness, which represent the Aims of Scouting, as well as their leadership and respect in the community."
   In presenting Mr. Losch with the award, the Boy Scouts noted "his outstanding character, commitment and citizenship, as well as his dedication to the community and New Jersey." Mr. Losch has over 30 years experience in New Jersey banking, and is active in the business and non-profit communities.

   Michael Young, President and Chairman of Cenlar FSB, a wholesale bank considered one of the nation’s leading subservicing firms, announced the appointment of Joe Loots to vice president of default management for Cenlar. His responsibilities include supervision of all Cenlar default management activity. Mr. Loots was previously with Household Mortgage Services.

   Commerce Bancorp announced that Kevin Wiley has joined the bank as a vice president. He will lead the expansion of Commerce’s government banking activity throughout Mercer County and also focus on providing financial services to area nonprofits. Mr. Wiley has 20 years of experience in government banking and community lending. Prior to joining Commerce, Mr. Wiley was vice president and senior business advisor for government banking at PNC Bank. He lives in Newtown, Pa.
LAW
   
   Mercer County Bar Foundation received a check for $10,000 from Daniel Giaquinto, prosecutor of the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office. The donation was allocated from the Prosecutor’s Forfeiture Fund and represents money seized and forfeited from drug dealers and criminal enterprises. The grant was awarded to the foundation to be applied to the K.I.T.E.S. (Kids Instructed in Tolerance through Education and Support) program, a conflict resolution and violence prevention program developed by the foundation for area school children and their parents.

   Bruce Stern of Pennington, president of The Association of Trial Lawyers of America-New Jersey, has received the association’s highest honor, the 2003 Gold Medal for Distinguished Service to the ATLA-NJ. Mr. Stern is a shareholder and member of the personal injury group of Stark & Stark, Princeton.

   Allen Grossman has been named Counsel of the Princeton law firm Mason, Griffin and Pierson. Mr. Grossman, a graduate of Princeton University, earned his law degree from Harvard Law School. His law practice focuses on estate planning, elder law and representation of closely held and family businesses. He is a member of the New Jersey State and American Bar associations and an active member of the Princeton community.
CONSTRUCTION
   
   Dunham Construction Services, based in Princeton, has added two skilled professionals to its production team.
   Charles Turi, named production manager, is responsible for the supervision and coordination of every phase of the construction process from start to completion. He comes to Dunham Construction with over 20 years of experience in general contracting and hands-on applications of carpentry, masonry and subcontract trades. Mr. Turi owned his own firm in Pennington for six years.
   Kurt Leasure has been named production administrator and will track construction activities and administer the firm’s project scheduling software system. His background is in historic preservation and computer technology. Mr. Leasure worked for years as a historic preservation specialist and restoration carpenter for organizations such as the New Jersey Historic Preservation Office and the Fairmount Park Historic Preservation Trust in Philadelphia.
GOOD DEEDS
   
   The Lawrenceville-based Allegra Print & Imaging sponsored the Allegra Cares program in which the firm donated 10 percent of the value from all sales from new customers to the Eden Family of Services, the Princeton-based nonprofit organization that serves the lifespan needs of individuals with autism. The company was able to present Eden with a check for $1,251.
   "We are so grateful to Allegra for selecting Eden to be the recipient of its Allegra Cares program," said Dr. David L. Holmes, president and executive director of the Eden Family of Services. "Allegra not only raised money for Eden it also helped to increase autism awareness in the community. Allegra has been a good friend to Eden over the years and we are thankful for all of its support."
   Allegra Print & Imaging is a full-service provider of sales, marketing and related printed business communication materials. For the past 12 years, Allegra has provided products and services to meet the needs of all types of organizations in various industries, the firm said.
