Jamesburg Senior Citizens, 39 Stevens Ave., will offer a variety of upcoming events.
All Jamesburg residents over age 60 are invited to join the club. Meetings are held at 1:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month. Nonmembers are welcome on trips.The group will travel to Atlantic City on Aug. 18 and Sept. 23. Buses will depart at 11 a.m. from the center. A board meeting is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 3.There will be a membership meeting and food collection beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 10.A birthday luncheon is scheduled for noon on Sept. 17 at the center. The group plans a Sept. 21-25 trip to Ocean City, Md.Exercise classes are set for 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays in September.A mystery trip is planned for Oct. 15. Cost is $43 for members, $53 for nonmembers.

Band collecting empty
inkjet, laser cartridges
The Spotswood High School Band is participating in a Kash for Kids fund-raising program that will pay the band $2 for each empty inkjet or laser computer cartridge collected.
The public is invited to save empty cartridges and drop them off at collection boxes set up at the high school, Memorial School and KrisKell Creations Hair Salon, all Summerhill Road; Schoenly School, Kane Avenue; and the Spotswood Public Library and Pulaski Bank, both Main Street. Cartridges should be placed in sealed plastic bags. All proceeds will benefit the band. The fund-raiser will be ongoing throughout the year.
