KATHLEEN T. QUINLAN PRUSAKOWSKI, 83, of Lakewood, died July 29 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in South Amboy, she resided there before moving to Lakewood 10 years ago. Before her retirement in 1983 she was employed by the city of South Amboy as a tax collector for 15 years. Prior to that she was employed by E.I. Du Pont Photo Products as a film inspector for 12 years. Mrs. Prusakowski was a member and past commander of C.A.V. Chapter 67 Ladies Auxiliary in South Amboy and was a member of the Lakewood Italian American Social Club. She was a communicant of Saint Mary of the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Lakewood where she served as Eucharist Minister and was a former communicant of Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in South Amboy. Mrs. Prusakowski was predeceased by her husband, John H. Prusakowski, in 1989; her sisters Ruth Quinlan in 1989 and Mary Leonard in 1978. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Ellen Senape and Margaret Poulson, both of South Amboy; two sons, Jerry Prusakowski and his wife, Maureen, of Colts Neck and Joseph Prusakowski and his wife, Jane, of Howell; four grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. A funeral Mass was held at Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in South Amboy. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery in the Parlin section of Sayreville.

LUCA J. DeMICCO, 76, of Jackson, died July 28 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was born in Italy and lived in Jersey City before moving to Jackson 45 years ago. He was a parishioner and usher at the Church of St. Robert Ballarmine, Freehold Township. He was a United States Army veteran, serving during World War II. Mr. DeMicco was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and he served as president of the Garden Club at Western Electric. He was a member of the MONOC Pigeon Club. He was a stock selector for Western Electric in Kearny for 40 years, retiring in 1984. Mr. DeMicco is survived by his wife, Madeline, of Jackson; two sons, Nicholas DeMicco, of Farmingdale, and James DeMicco, of Jackson; a daughter, Mary Lou DeMicco, of Jackson; a brother, Mario DeMicco, of Fishkill, N.Y.; and two grandchildren. A Funeral Mass was offered at St. Robert Bellarmine. Interment was in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.

THERESA A. NOWAK ROMER, 49, of Jackson, died Aug. 9 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Perth Amboy, she lived in South Amboy and Old Bridge before moving to Jackson two years ago. She was employed as a security guard for Securitas, Monroe, for the past eight years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, South Amboy. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth C. Romer, in 1986. She is survived by two daughters, Michelle Romer of the Avenel section of Woodbridge and Kristine Romer of Jackson; her parents, John F. Sr. and Marion Lesnick Nowak of South Amboy; and her mother-in-law, Francine Romer of Spotswood.

VOLBURG L. KENDRICK, 89, of Lakewood, died Aug. 10 at Meridian Health Care Center in Staten Island, N.Y. She was employed as an executive secretary at American Enka Co. in New York City before retiring in 1942. She is survived by her husband, Lewis Kendrick of Lakewood; a son, John Kendrick of Carlisle, Pa.; a daughter, Karen Potz of South Salem, N.Y.; a sister, Lillian Isaacs, of Staten Island; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. VIRGINIA M. ASHWORTH, 83, of Jackson, died Aug. 6 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Union and lived in Freehold before moving to Jackson in 1992. Mrs. Ashworth was a bookkeeper for the Lincroft Inn, Lincroft, where she was employed for 20 years before retiring in 1985. She was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Jackson. She was predeceased by her husband, Franklin J. Ashworth in 1999. She is survived by two sons, Donald C. Ashworth of Freehold and James T. Ashworth of Dunellen; a daughter, Barbara R. Isele of Jackson; three brothers, Richard and Daniel Hall, both of Forked River and Charles Hall of Union; four grandchildren and a great-grandson. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home in Freehold. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown.
