Scott and Amy Woods of Toms River and their family are holding the "Swing for a Cure" golf tournament Sept. 13 at McCullough’s Emerald Golf Links, Egg Harbor.

Scott Woods, a controller at Watchung Spring Water, Lakewood, is hoping to do­nate at least $8,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association, in honor of his grandparents, through the one-day fund-raiser, which he hopes to make an annual event, according to a press release.

The cost of the tournament is $125 per person or $500 per foursome. Sponsorship opportunities are available for contests, holes and promotional items for goodie bags. A nonplayer may pay $20 for the barbecue dinner that will immediately fol­low the event. The shotgun start will be at 2 p.m. The deadline to register is Aug. 27.
