ALFRED LOUIS YESSE, 82, of Ocean died Aug. 26 at St. Barnabas Hospice at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Newark, he resided in Newark, Middletown, and Port St. Lucie, Fla., before moving to Ocean three years ago. Mr. Yesse was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, Middletown. He served with the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed time with his family, and was an avid walker. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen R. Yesse, in 2000. He is survived by a son, Dennis Yesse of Portland, Maine; a daughter, Lee Ann Roper of Ocean; and three grandchildren.

JoANNE PATRICIA MACAN, 62, of Toms River died Aug. 29 at home. Born in Orange, she resided in Middletown, for 20 years, and Sea Bright prior to moving to Toms River two years ago. She co-founded Re/Max, Middletown, in 1999, and was an active Realtor until she was slowed down by health problems. She worked at various local real estate agencies since 1976. She was a member of the King of Kings Lutheran Church, Middletown. She was named Monmouth County Realtor of the Year in 2003. She was active in theater at First Avenue Playhouse, Atlantic Highlands. She is survived by her daughter, Meg Macan of New York; two sons, Nelson Macan of Rumson, and L. Jeremy Macan of Long Branch; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Roberta and Charles Mooney of West Caldwell, and Ellen and Gary Hare of Denville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Elizabeth Hare of Hingham, Mass., and Gregory and Judy Hare of Hazleton, Pa.; one niece; and nine nephews.
