‘Apples & Authors

Festival of Reading’

The Ocean County Library will be sponsoring "Apples and Authors, A Festival of Reading," Sept. 13 at the Jackson library, 2 Jackson Drive, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Apples and Authors is a family fun day filled with appearances by many authors and book publishers in addition to book signings, children’s storybook characters, children’s crafts, live performances, teen activities, food and live music.

This year’s festival will feature mystery author Carol Higgins-Clark. She will talk about her new book, Popped, at noon and sign books afterward.

New Jersey’s Joyce McDonald, award-winning author of books for children and young adults, including Shades of Simon Grey, Swallowing Stones and The Shadow People, will talk about her books.

Amy Schapiro, who has written Millicent Fenwick: Her Way, the first biography of the former New Jersey congresswoman, will also appear.

These and other authors will be available in Author’s Alley for book signings from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
