• Young At Heart will help celebrate National Adult Day Services Week, Sept. 21-27. Displays and information are available at Ocean County Mall, Toms River; Freehold Raceway Mall, Freehold Township; and Monmouth Mall, Eatontown.

• The Bat Shalom Chapter of Hadassah will meet 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 18 at Bella Terra, 1 Kathleen Drive, Jackson. Guest speaker Barbara Fleisher will speak about Young Judea and children at risk. The chapter meets on the third Thursday of each month. Guests welcome. Details: (732) 928-8555.

• Social ballroom dancing is held at the Jackson Community Center on the last Friday of every month. The next dances are scheduled for Sept. 26 and Oct., 31. • "Granny’s Attic and Bake Sale," sponsored by the Faith Circle of Jackson United Methodist Church, Sept. 27, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Oak Tree Mobile Home Park’s Recreation Hall off Diamond Road, Jackson. • New Egypt Elks flea market and mum sale Sept. 27, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 105 Lakewood Road, New Egypt section of Plumsted. Vendors needed to participate in the event. The cost per space is $8. Tables may be rented for a fee of $5. Baked goods and refreshments will also be on sale. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Children’s Memorial Fund. • A Roast Beef Dinner will be held at the First Baptist Church, 240 First Street, Lakewood, Sept. 28, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Donation of $8 for adults and $4 for children under 10 years old includes beverages and desserts as well as dinner. • A "Fall Plant Swap and Garden Fair" will be held at the Jackson Library, 2 Jackson Drive, Sept. 30. Plants to swap must be brought to the library between 4 and 7 p.m. The swap will take place 8-8:30 p.m. The swap is co-sponsored by the library and the Green Thumb Garden Club.
