In a match where the attack dominated, the Old Bridge Warriors soccer team were at the top of their game in a 4-1 win over the Holmdel Stallions this past Sunday. The Warriors’ goals were nicely distributed over four different players from a variety of field positions, while dominating the opponent throughout most of the game.

The defense of Hursh Vasant, Liem Nguyen, Rich Einwechter, David Abrams and Joe Sastoque played an outstanding match, blunting the opposing team’s attack and bringing on the counterattack. In the midfield, Kevin Reseter, Tony Pahumi, Khaled Issa and Albie Ramku put together a near-perfect blend of defense and offensive play to keep possession in Old Bridge’s favor. Midfield wings Mike Joilibois and T.J. Glynn virtually owned the touchlines all game and spread the opposing defense across the field. Forwards Colton Gerdon, Dan DiLeonardo and Paul Schuster pushed the attack and kept the opposing defense guessing the entire match. Goalkeeper Philip DiMauro, playing with an injury to his thigh, closed down all but one of Holmdel’s scoring opportunities, stopping five shots on goal. Goals were scored by Dan DiLeonardo, Colton Gerdon, Mike Joilibois and T.J. Glynn.
