Obituaries Joseph D. Jennings

Mr. Jennings, 80, of Long Branch died Sept. 20 at his daughter’s home in Pennsylvania. Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong resident of Long Branch. Mr. Jennings was a meat manager at A&P, Little Silver, for 46 years, retiring in 1989. He served with the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, Long Branch. He was predeceased by his wife, Edith B. Jennings, in 1976; and a sister, Anna Gallaniri. He is survived by a son, J. David Jennings of West Chester, Pa.; a daughter, Wendy Ann Lessig of Huntingdon, Pa.; a brother and sister, James Jennings and Marion Hampton, both of Long Branch; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sept. 26 at 9:30 a.m. at Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.

Richard W. Palmer

Mr. Palmer, 76, of Laurence Harbor died Sept. 16 in JFK Medical Center, Edison. Surviving are his wife, Louise "Pat" Holden Palmer; two sons, Richard J. Palmer of Fair Haven and Rande H. Palmer of Long Branch; a daughter, Robin Colatrella of Laurence Harbor; and six grandchildren. Services were held at Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy. Cremation was private. Daniel J. McGeehan

Mr. McGeehan, 40, of Keyport died Sept. 20 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Newark, he resided in Middletown before moving to Keyport two years ago. Mr. McGeehan was a stationary engineer at Rouse Co., Staten Island, N.Y., where he was employed the past five years. He is survived by a son, Michael G. McGeehan of Long Branch; his parents, Dolores and George McGeehan of the New Monmouth section of Middletown; a sister, Sharon Thorp of the Navesink section of Middletown; one niece and one nephew. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, New Monmouth, followed by burial at Bay View Cemetery, Middletown. The John F. Pfleger Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Joseph H. Mangiamele

Mr. Mangiamele, 83, of Manchester died Sept. 18 at home. Born in Hackensack, he resided in Long Branch and Spring Lake prior to moving to Manchester. He was a general foreman at J.F. Kiely Construction Co., Long Branch, for 40 years, retiring in 1992. He served with the U.S. Army. He enjoyed time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosemarie Berger Mangiamele; two sons, Paul M. Mangiamele of Eden Prairie, Minn., and Joseph P. Mangiamele of Centerville, Ohio; three daughters, Rosemarie Goodpaster of Fairhope, Ala.; Joi Machmer of Fort Collins, Colo.; and Joanne Mangiamele of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, Alfred Caruso of Long Branch, and Paul Caruso of Queens, N.Y.; and nine grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch. Marie Quarto Rispoli

Mrs. Rispoli, 71, of Highlands died Sept. 18 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown prior to mov­ing to Highlands five years ago. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, whom she married in 1951, Joseph Rispoli of Highlands; four sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Jennie Rispoli of Brooklyn, N.Y.; James and Betty Rispoli of Cordova, S.C.; Steven and Debbie Rispoli of Long Branch; and Daniel and Linda Rispoli of Middletown; six daughters and five sons-in-law, Mariann Mezzina, Diane and Anthony Settembre, and Debra and Mark Shopp, all of Port Monmouth; Nancy and Robert Robinson, and Laura and David Betts, all of Cordova, S.C.; and Camille and Dennis Tenny of Middletown; her sister-in-law, Nancy Croce of Staten Island, N.Y.; 25 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Ar­rangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
