Edison Halloween parade, party slated for Oct. 25
The Edison Department of Parks and Recreation is sponsoring its 15th annual township Halloween party. This "bewitching" event will be held at the Minnie B. Veal Community Center, 1070 Grove Ave., Edison, on Oct. 25 from noon to 3 p.m.
The Halloween party will be highlighted by the afternoon colorful costume parade, which will signal the start of the festivities at noon. Township children between second and fifth grades will be invited to participate in all the events.
All children must be preregistered for this event at the Stelton Community Center, 328 Plainfield Ave., Edison, or the Minnie B. Veal Community Center, 1070 Grove Ave., Edison, by 4 p.m. on Oct. 24. Registration began Oct. 14.
All costumed children will be able to visit the Enchanted Pumpkin Patch, the Recreation Haunted Graveyard and the J.P. Stevens High School Haunted House before exiting, with candy and a Halloween souvenir.
The finale will be a hayride for all costumed children. Pumpkin painting, sand art, crafters and food vendors will also be available throughout the day for a nominal fee.
A disc jockey and Moon Bounce will be on site to keep the little "ghouls" jumping. For additional information regarding the Halloween party, contact the Edison Recreation Department weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at (732) 248-7312.
