Residents saw the ‘real’ Mayor Scarpelli at Oct. 7 meeting

Did anyone see the explosive meeting at Brick Town Hall on Oct. 7? If you weren’t there, you missed the best "Jerry Springer Show" that Mayor Joseph Scarpelli could produce.

He attacked Republican Councilman Stephen Acropolis in an attempt to discredit him regarding some three-year-old story about our local hockey team. The best part was the fact that the mayor was fresh off a vacation to New England with a township vehicle, a situation uncovered by Councilman Acropolis. I didn’t know that Joe Scarpelli has used his office to employ two family members at town hall for many years as well as giving $500 per session to his chiropractor son for an hour-long seminar. I’ve been to seminars before, but I’ve never known a mayor to repeatedly give his son $500 from the township coffers. Well, there’s always a first time for everything.

By the way, Brick’s Channel 20 could be used for something else besides the Scarpelli propaganda channel. If the council would only televise their meetings, you would see the real side of Mayor Scarpelli. It reminds me of the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The mayor and his "team" would never be re-elected if everyone witnessed what occurred that day.
