Residents of the Westlake adult community, Jackson, participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Oct. 13 to raise funds for breast cancer research. Some residents walked in memory of loved ones who lost their battle with the disease. Adele Hartman, who helped to chair the event, said more than $9,800 was raised. Co-chairs were Miriam Appelbaum, Lorraine Clement and Bobbie Rivere.
