Government change requires choices, not one option

How much will it cost us to change our form of government? How much will it cost us to divide the town into six separate voting blocks? Will this sudden change affect our daily life?

But more importantly, why would we want to change our form of government without public debate or input?

Why must we choose right now? Can’t we wait and review the many forms of government available before deciding on the best one for all?

Am I the only one concerned that only these "keepers of the public betterment" had a say in deciding our new form of government? What was best for me? Should I blindly accept their endorsement as authoritative and final?

And their pushy marketing strategy. This heightened sense of urgency that truly doesn’t exist. Taking advantage of those unfamiliar with the bizarre antics of Jackson politics.

A group of politically motivated individuals band together with a brainchild of a cause to champion. Does this make it my cause? Should I jump at the chance to make a poor and uninformed decision? Runs all the ads you wish. Without choices any decision on this issue is foolish.

Do I think these people are acting out their own agenda? Do I think they suffer from a desire to see me enveloped in the best form of government?

Before you cast your vote, remember "What’s in it for me." This organization is systematically and thoroughly canvassing and advertising. Quite a professional grassroots campaign. Make no mistake, they are running a campaign for this referendum. It could be bigger than the election.

Be careful what you vote for, you may get what you want.

What is it called when a small group of people overthrow the existing form of government? Coup d’état.
