The Ocean County Workforce Investment Board has developed a "Business Tool Kit" to help new and established businesses find information about types of support and assistance the county offers. Highlights of the "tool kit" include information about the Workforce Investment Board and the Ocean County One-Stop Career Center on Route 9, Dover Township.

In addition, general information about the county, income and labor statistics, infrastructure, business resources and incentives, employment and training, tourism and the community is included in the kits.

In order to reach as many members of the business community as possible, the tool kit will be available at each branch of the Ocean County Library starting the first week of November. The tool kit is also available at the County Connection, and can be obtained by calling the WIB office at (732) 506-5312. Order the tool kit online at www.co.ocean.nj.us/wib.

Staff members of the Ocean County Department of Human Services and the Workforce Investment Board who worked on the Business Tool Kit include Donnalee Snyder, who oversaw the project; Tracy Okrasinski, who designed the graphics and layout, and Willow Damato. Students Danny Howell, Anita Avezzano and Daniel Votapek from the Ocean County Vocational Technical School designed the cover. Graphic arts instructor Howard Polenberg coordinated the cover design project.

Paul Stumpf, M.D., a resident of Brick, has been chosen by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) to lead its New Jersey section. He is director of reproductive endocrinology at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, having been on staff there since Oct. 2002.

Stumpf will serve a three-year term as the New Jersey Chairman of the ACOG, representing more than 1,500 of its members. The ACOG has also named Stumpf to its national Committee on Patient Safety and Quality Assurance, which creates guidelines for women’s health care in the United States.

The Ocean County Tourism Advisory Council will hold its annual meeting at the new Ritacco Center, 1245 Old Freehold Road, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m., according to Freeholder Joseph H. Vicari, who serves as county liaison for the group.

The Ritacco Center’s primary purpose is to serve the student population as a state-of-the-art facility that can accommodate the school system’s activities. The center also serves as a major venue for tourism when it presents major entertainers such as Bill Cosby and Jay Leno.
