Metuchen recreation sponsors workshop
The Metuchen Recreation Commission is sponsoring a science workshop for youngsters ages 7-12 Nov. 6 and 7.
Sciensational Workshops for Kids, Inc., will present an MX Speedboat Car-Revolving Robot workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Dawg House, 83 Middlesex Ave., Metuchen.
Participants will build a car to demonstrate force, a revolving robot, and a speedboat. They will learn about interesting science ideas and will be able to test out all their projects and take them home.
The cost of the two-day workshop is $125.

Metuchen Cultural Arts sponsors Jazz Fest
Jazz Fest, sponsored by the Metuchen Cultural Arts Commission, will be held at Metuchen High School Nov. 14 starting at 8 p.m.
Performing will be the Radam Schwartz quintet and vocalist Yvette Glover. Radam has been a prominent musician in the metro region for over 20 years.
Admission is $8 and $7 for seniors and students. Funding, in part, has been made possible by the Middlesex County Cultural & Heritage Commission.

Church Women United will hold community day
The World Community Day celebration of Church Women United will be observed at the Centenary United Methodist Church, 200 Hillside Ave., Metuchen, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m.
This year’s theme, "Circles of Love," will be presented by the Presbyterian Women of Metuchen and Oak Tree. Offerings to support the ongoing work of CWU in the state and community will be accepted.
The host church will serve refreshments and all women are welcome to attend. Baby-sitting services will be available.
