show to aid

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP — Grammy Award-winning recording artist Roberta Flack will set the night to music when she performs on Nov. 8. The benefit concert at the State Theater, New Bruns-wick, will support the CentraState Healthcare System.

Flack, who is best known for her ballads "Killing Me Softly With His Song" and "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," will help support community health services at CentraState’s Health Awareness Center.

"We are fortunate to sign a headliner of Roberta Flack’s caliber for this event," said Roman Lucky, vice president of development. "The performance will benefit a service which last year registered over 44,000 participants in programs ranging from pre-birthing classes to fitness for seniors as well as free health screenings conducted throughout the community."

CentraState Healthcare System is a nonprofit community health organization consisting of an acute-care hospital, three senior living centers, a health education and activities center, a family medicine center and a charitable foundation. It is a member of the Robert Wood Johnson Health Network and a clinical research affiliate of The Cancer Institute of New Jersey.

Flack’s oeuvre is decidedly romantic. The closer you get to the singer, the more she’ll make you feel.

Ticket prices are $25, $45, $65 and $150. The premier $150 tickets include a reception with the four-time Grammy winner before the concert. To purchase tickets, contact the State Theatre at 877-782-8311 or purchase online at www.stateheatrenj.org.
