Obituaries Meade Robertson

Mr. Robertson, 48, of Green Island, Toms River, died Oct. 13 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Born in Long Branch, he grew up in Highlands where he attended Henry Hudson Regional High School. Mr. Robertson was a chef at the Brielle Inn for 10 years, and was a landscaper/heavy equipment operator for LuMar Landscape Contractors/Calgo Garden, Toms River, for the past 20 years. A former resident of Brick, he was a member of the Green Island (Toms River) Community Association and participated in Toms River East Little League. Mr. Robertson enjoyed gardening and music, especially the Blues, and played the guitar. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Linda Robertson; his son, Conner; his mother, Edith Robertson of Highlands; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Sylvia and William Schloeder of Atlantic Highlands, Susan and Herb Brooks of Jamestown, N.Y., Sheri and Richard Briggs of Sugar Grove, Pa., Nedra Warren of Boston, and Myra Robertson of Highlands; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Rob and Makie Robertson, and Roger and Richard Robertson, all of Highlands; as well as many nieces and nephews. The Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Road, Toms River, was in charge of arrangements.

Geraldine "Gerry" E. McGuire

Mrs. McGuire, 80, of Eatontown died Oct. 8 at King James Care Center, Middletown. Born in West Pittston, Pa., she resided in Little Silver prior to moving to Eatontown 10 years ago. Mrs. McGuire was an area Realtor for several years, as well as a homemaker. She was a former member of the Officers Club, Fort Monmouth, and was an avid golfer with the Officers’ Wives Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. McGuire, in 1996; and a son, Terrance McGuire, in 1995. She is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Edward McGuire of Worcester, Mass., Kevin and Maureen McGuire of Downingtown, Pa., Daniel J. and Melissa McGuire of Little Silver, and Joseph McGuire of Ithaca, N.Y.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Dr. John Ziegler of Ithaca, and Ann and Tom Murdock of Rumson; a brother, Carl Borr of Yuba City, Calif.; and seven grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home Inc., Red Bank. Marie McHugh Dobias

Mrs. Dobias, 71, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, formerly of Long Branch, died Oct. 18 at home. Surviving are her husband, Richard S. Dobias; a daughter, Susan Wassel of South Plainfield; two sons, Dr. Richard J. Dobias of Hanover Township, Pa., and Brian R. Dobias of East Windsor; a brother, Robert McHugh of Holland, Pa.; two granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Bernadette’s Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Frances Presti

Frances Presti, 36, of Neptune died Oct. 29 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Hazlet, she resided there prior to moving to Neptune two years ago. She held a master’s degree. She was a member the Bayshore Women’s Softball League for many years. She was predeceased by her father, Francis Presti, in 1990. She is survived by her mother, Dora Onofrio Presti of Hazlet; her partner, Jenn Martino of Neptune; a sister, Donna Cottrell of Brick; two brothers, Paul Presti of Union Beach and John Presti of Palm Harbor, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. Inter­ment was at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport. John O. Bennett Jr.

Mr. Bennett, 78, of Freehold died Oct. 30 at Reformed Church Home, Old Bridge. Born in New Brunswick, he lived in Marlboro for many years before moving to Freehold 19 years ago. Mr. Bennett served in the U. S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was an automobile dealer for Bennett’s Garage, Marlboro from 1945 until his retirement in 1986. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Florence Campbell Bennett; two sons and daughters-in-law, Sena­tor John O. Bennett III and his wife, Mar­garet, Little Silver; Bruce W. Bennett Sr., and his wife, Donna, Colts Neck; and six grand­children. Arrangements were made by the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold and funeral services were held at the Old Brick Reformed Church, Marlboro. Matthew A. Chin

Mr. Chin, 19, of Red Bank died Oct. 14 in Hazlet. He was born in Red Bank. Mr. Chin was a retail clerk at Old Navy, Holmdel, and a student at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown. He was a graduate of Raritan High School, Hazlet, where he participated in track, wrestling and football. He enjoyed motorcycling and playing with his five dogs. He is survived by his parents, Priscilla L. and James Chin of Hazlet; a brother, Ryan Chin of Middletown; a sister, Venus Chin of Matawan; his grandmother, Winnie Lau of New York City; and one niece. Dorothy M. Durkin

Miss Durkin, 91, of Red Bank died Oct. 16 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Washington, D.C., she lived in Hyattsville, Md., prior to moving to Red Bank 14 years ago. She was a supervisor at the Tax Assessor’s Office for the District of Columbia, Washington, where she was employed for 30 years. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was a member of the Monmouth Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She was predeceased by a brother, Francis C. Durkin, in 1987. She is survived by a sister, Mary E. Cahill of Red Bank; a niece, Rita Kline of Red Bank; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Church. Interment was at George Washington Memorial Park, Adelphi, Md. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.

Eugene Natusch

Mr. Natusch, 56, of Neptune died Oct. 20 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Neptune for the past five years. Mr. Natusch was employed as a ground service chief for Northwest Airlines, Newark, for the past 35 years. He was a member of Church of Grace and Peace Church, Toms River. He was predeceased by his father, George Natusch in 2000. He is survived by his daughter, Jean Marie Pistone of Oceanport; three sons, Steven, Bryan and Ryan Natusch of Keyport, Monmouth Junction and Green­brook, respectively; his mother, Palma Iacovelli Natusch of Woodbridge; a brother, George Natusch of Iselin; a sister, Jane Baliga of Fords; and a granddaughter. Funeral services were held at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, Woodbridge and interment was at the Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
