Volunteers needed for Nov. 28 lighting event

The Volunteer Center of Monmouth County, Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, is seeking volunteers for a tree- and town-lighting event in Red Bank Nov. 28. Duties include being a contact for visitors during the event. The minimum age for volunteers for this project is 18.

Volunteers are needed to prepare foodstuffs for delivery, and to load and unload in the various neighborhoods. Also needed are donations of brown and plastic bags to use as containers. Help is needed from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to help collect, sort, package and distribute gifts for "Operation Sleighbells" Dec. 8-17 in Oakhurst and Long Branch. Individuals may also "adopt" a family and provide specific gifts for the family.

An Oakhurst nonprofit seeks a volunteer certified CPR instructor for various hours and days during the week. (American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR is acceptable.)

The New Jersey Lighthouse Society needs volunteers to be tour guides and greeters weekends and evenings at Sandy Hook. Responsibilities include giving tours, signing up visitors for tours, distributing brochures and operating the gift shop. Volunteers will be trained to give tours. The minimum age is 18.

An Ocean Township nonprofit seeks volunteers for handyman work for seniors around the seniors’ home, and to assess and plan what needs to be done for the seniors.
