Diane Turton, Realtors will open a new corporate center at 511 Forman Ave. in Point Pleasant Beach. The grand-opening celebration is scheduled for Dec. 12 from 2-6 p.m. and will also serve as the company’s holiday party this year.

For the past 17 years, the operations staff has been working out of the company’s Point Pleasant sales office on Bridge Avenue. The operations staff, which works behind the scenes to keep the company running smoothly, includes an accounting department, administrative staff, a full-service marketing department and an information systems team.

Diane Turton will be moving to the new location along with her two executive assistants, Bette Fonseca and Cyndi Maikisch. In addition, Turton’s senior management team, Peggy Buccino, operations manager, and Maureen Penta, general sales manager, as well as their administrator, Kathy Dalik, will be operating out of the new office when it opens.

Community Medical Center, Toms River, has been named one of the nation’s best hospitals in the Northeast by Money magazine for treatment of three different conditions.

In the fall 2003 issue, Money listed the top-rated facilities that handle the most cases for 20 common medical treatments and conditions, according to HealthGrades, a health-care rating, information and advisory services company. Using Medicare data, HealthGrades rated more than 5,000 hospitals based on quality measures such as mortality and complication rates.

Community Medical Center, a 596-bed, acute care, nonteaching hospital, was listed as a top hospital in the categories of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, partial hip replacement and hip fracture repair. For more information, visit www.money.com.

Dr. James W. Brown, dean of health sciences and human performance at Ocean County College, Toms River, received the Lloyd M. Felmly Award for 2003. Established in 1976 and named after Lloyd M. Felmly, an editor of the Newark Evening News and a friend of public health, the annual award is presented to an individual for outstanding contribution in the media to the cause of public health in New Jersey.

Dr. Brown covered the International AIDS Conference for more than 10 years for Medical Laboratory Observer and Medical Economics. He has also been frequently interviewed by the print media, radio and television. Dr. Brown has been featured on Yokohama Television, NBC, CBS, NJN, Voice of America, National Public Radio, and the New York Times.

Professional Inspection Services Inc., a home-inspection company serving Ocean, Monmouth and Middlesex counties, announced that it has changed its name to The Inspection Guys. Peter Daniele, president and CEO of The Inspection Guys, said the name change reflects the company’s leap from local small business to national franchiser.

The Inspection Guys, located at 1743 Route 88 west in Brick, has been serving Ocean, Monmouth and Middlesex counties since 1994. Services include home and termite inspections as well as mold and radon testing for residential properties. The Inspection Guys are fully insured and licensed by the state of New Jersey. Naval Air Engineering Station, Lakehurst, was named a winner of the state Department of Environmental Protection’s Environmental Excellence Awards in the clean air category last week. The annual awards recognize individuals, businesses and communities in eight categories who have made significant contributions to environmental protection in New Jersey.

The Naval Air Engineering Station at Lakehurst provides engineering support to all naval air platforms and has more than 600 major sources of air emissions, consisting primarily of utility boilers. The award recognizes the station’s efforts to reduce emissions by initiating several projects to convert all fuel oil-fired boilers at the facility to cleaner burning natural gas.

Judith and Stephan Leone received the Gloria and Morris Adler Distinguished Service Award for their contributions to the musical life of the New Jersey Shore at a recent luncheon held at Woodlake Country Club, Lakewood. The Brick-based Garden State Philharmonic (GSP) raised $5,000 at the ceremony in honor of the Leones, of Toms River.

In 1993, the GSP was a small community orchestra. According to Darlene A. Dreyer, executive director of the GSP, it was Judith G. Leone who helped transform the GSP into a professional orchestra, and also oversaw the development of the Youth Orchestra and Chorus. Judith Leone is a former member of the Handbell Choir of the First Baptist Church of Toms River.

Stephan R. Leone, one of the founders and managing partner of the Toms River law firm of Carluccio, Leone, Dimon, Doyle & Sacks, was honored, along with his wife, for his service to the arts. Leone has supported the GSP and has made many behind-the-scenes contributions that have helped foster its cultural and financial success, according to Dreyer.
