WOODBRIDGE — A local doctor was arrested and charged with one count of criminal sexual contact after he allegedly groped a female patient at his Iselin medical office on Nov. 4.

Dr. Bruce Printz, 50, Westfield, who maintains offices at the Avenel-Iselin Medical Center at 400 Gill Lane in Iselin, was arrested after police received a complaint from a 30-year-old female patient who lives in the Iselin area.

The patient told police that on the morning of Oct. 29 she had an appointment with Printz.

According to the police report on the incident, the patient, who had come in for a flu shot, alleged that while she was on the examination table, the doctor sat down across from her and put his hand on her face, turned her face toward him and kissed her three times on the lips. While kissing the patient, he allegedly rubbed his left hand on one of her breasts.

The patient said she then pushed Printz away and told him to stop. Printz then allegedly pulled on the front of the patient’s shirt and looked down at her breasts. The patient again pushed Printz away and told him to leave her alone, get her the flu shot and get out of the office, according to the report.

A nurse then entered and administered the flu shot. The patient went to the front desk of the office, paid and left. According to the police report, the patient called police to report the incident upon returning home.

According to police, Printz has been released on his own recognizance and the matter has been referred to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

A reporter who called Printz’s Gill Lane office Friday seeking comment on the charges was told the doctor has taken a leave of absence from the medical group for personal reasons.

Attempts to contact Printz were unsuccessful.
