Sherri Schwartz, a Woodbridge resident, was awarded the William E. Short Award Oct. 30 by the Woodbridge Chamber of Commerce for her exemplary service to the community.

Schwartz and her husband own the Carpet Maven, Main Street, Woodbridge, and currently reside in Colonia with their 10-year-old daughter.

Schwartz believes in giving back to the community and her many activities include donating to local educational needs, sponsoring DARE, school plays and local sporting teams, according to a press release from the chamber. Schwartz also serves as secretary of the small business council and is active in organizing local food pantries.

Executive director retires

from Kiddie Keep Well

Kiddie Keep Well Camp, 35 Roosevelt Drive, Edison, will hold a holiday retirement party to honor its executive director, Eleanor Ann Bates, Dec. 18 at 6:30 p.m.

She has played a part in the history of Kiddie Keep Well Camp for 28 years and has been an integral part of its growth and development, according to a press release from the organization.

Members of the community and friends are invited to attend and celebrate the accomplishments of this vibrant individual who has enriched the lives of so many.

wins regional award

Weichert Realtors, 123 Lincoln Highway, Edison, won a regional award in October.

Weichert’s Gold Services program has enabled many people to realize the "American dream" of home ownership, while saving them valuable time and money, according to the realty agency.

The Gold Services program offers a guarantee to homebuyers who use Weichert to obtain their mortgage, insurance and title coverage. By using these services, homebuyers receive a credit decision within 24 hours and a guaranteed closing date. If Weichert fails to deliver, the buyer will receive a $1,000 credit at closing, according to the agency.
