Mr. Blake, 87, of Jackson died Nov. 10 at The Orchards at Bartley, Jackson. Born in Chicago, he lived in Pasadena, Calif., Ridgewood and Manchester before moving to Jackson. For 35 years he was an executive at Lederle Laboratories/American Cyanamid Corp. in Pearl River, N.Y., retiring in 1981. He was predeceased in 1996 by his wife, Mary Jane. Surviving are a son, Edward Thomas Blake of Wichita, Kan.; two daughters, Mary Lencses of Freehold and Bonnie Blake of Oakland; a brother, Jack Blake of Point Pleasant; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Aloysius Church, Jackson, followed by interment, which was private. The C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia section of Howell, was in charge of arrangements. Bertha Anna Christie

Mrs. Christie, 69, of the Clarksburg section of Millstone, died Nov. 15 at Capital Health System in Trenton. Born in Philadelphia, she was raised in Lindenwold and was a graduate of Philadelphia’s Hahnemann University Hospital School of Nursing. Before raising children, she spent the early part of her life working as a registered nurse. She later became a bookkeeper for Chris Industries, a family business located in Howell. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Laurel Springs Chapter No. 227. Surviving are her husband, David A. Christie; two sons, David A. Christie Jr. of Howell and Mark Christie of Eatontown; a daughter, Susan Christie of Howell; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Old Tennent Presbyterian Church, Tennent section of Manalapan, with the Rev. Dr. Hugh A. MacKenzie officiating. Interment will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. Lorraine Campbell

Mrs. Campbell, 57, of Howell died Nov. 16 at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Brick. Born in Passaic, she lived in Garfield and was a 1964 graduate of Garfield High School. In 1969, she moved to Freehold, where she resided before moving to Howell nine years ago. For the past nine years, she worked as a financial aid officer for the Concorde School of Hair Design in Ocean. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and John Perkins of Barnegat and Christie and Bruce Kaplan of Freehold; and seven grandchildren. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Veronica’s Roman Catholic Church, Howell, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. The Waitt-Nelms Funeral Home, Morganville section of Marlboro, was in charge of arrangements. Paul J. Acerra

Mr. Acerra, 87, of Long Branch died Nov. 20 at home. Born in Long Branch, he was a lifelong resident. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, Long Branch, for 37 years before his retirement. He was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. He was a member of the Acerra Brothers baseball team, which was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame, Cooperstown, N.Y. He was a member of the Long Branch Old Guard and was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Theresa "Tess" D’Amico Acerra; two sons, Paul Acerra and Michael Acerra, both of New Mexico; five brothers, Alfred, William, Edward, and Fred, all of Long Branch, and Richard of Lakewood; a sister, Frances Christopher of West Long Branch; and one granddaughter. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church. Interment was at Mount Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch.

Angelo Caccioppoli

Mr. Caccioppoli, 69, died Nov. 18 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, after a long struggle with illness. Born in Italy, he came to the United States in 1967 settling in Brooklyn, N.Y. He moved to Freehold Township in August. For 30 years he was the owner of Paramount Shoe Repair, Brooklyn, retiring in 1998. He served in the Italian army and was a lifetime member of the St. Anthony Society of Brooklyn, N.Y. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Lucia; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Lisa Caccioppoli of Howell; two brothers, Thomas Caccioppoli and Frank Caccioppoli, both of Italy; two sisters, Rosaria Casalino and Rosetta Faulisi, both of Brooklyn; and two grandsons. A funeral service was held at the First Assembly of God Church, Freehold Township, with the Rev. Jeffrey Philhower officiating. Entombment followed at Maplewood Mausoleum, Freehold Township.

Wanda J. Bivona

Mrs. Bivona, 46, of the New Egypt section of Plumsted, died Nov. 19 at home. Born in Mount Holly, she resided in Browns Mills until moving to New Egypt 16 years ago. A sales associate at McGuire Air Force Base in Wrightstown, she was a member of Plumsted Presybterian Church, New Egypt, where she also taught Sunday school. She was predeceased by a sister, Lois Tyrrell. Surviving are her husband, Allan Bivona; two sons, Allan Bivona Jr. and Gregory Bivona, both of New Egypt; her parents, Francis and Charles Tyrrell of Browns Mills; her brothers, Brian, Gary, Michael and Chuck Tyrrell, all of Browns Mills; her mother-in-law, Jean Schoonever of Yardville; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Arnytown, with cremation under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown. Memorial donations may be made to the Friends of New Egypt Library, 119 Evergreen Road, New Egypt 08533; or the Plumsted Presbyterian Church, 14 Front St., New Egypt 08533.

Henry E. Buecher III

Mr. Buecher, 72, of Howell died Nov. 20 at home. Born in Newark, he had lived in Irving­ton for 23 years and in Englishtown before moving to Howell in 1960. He was a physical education teacher at the Pine Brook School, Manalapan, and later at the Manalapan-En­glishtown Middle School, Manalapan, until his retirement in 1994. The first male gym teacher in the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District, he also served as the basket­ball coach while at MEMS. He received a bachelor of science degree, and a master’s de­gree in education and supervision from Seton Hall University, South Orange, where as an undergraduate he had majored in physical ed­ucation and minored in history. He was a member of the New Jersey Education Associa­tion and the New Jersey Retired Educators Association. He was a former member of Order of the Arrow No. 178, a former Eagle Scout and a former camp director for the Boy Scouts of America. He had also been an aquatics di­rector at Quail Hill Scout Camp in Manalapan. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Buecher was a member of American Legion Post 54 in Free­hold. Surviving are his wife, Bernadette Van Driel Buecher; two sons, Henry E. Buecher IV of Jackson and Daniel Buecher of Howell; a daughter, Eileen Buecher of Pittsburgh; and two grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the C.H.T. Clayton and Son Funeral Home, Adelphia section of Howell, followed by inter­ment at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Arnytown.

Rose S. Zeiber

Mrs. Zeiber, 96, of Hampden, Maine, formerly of Howell, died Nov. 20 at home. Born in Capetown, South Africa, she arrived in the United States in October 1907 and grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y., with two sisters and a brother. She attended the University of Wisconsin and New York University, majoring in English literature and philosophy. From 1935-41 she lived with her husband in what is now Israel. She taught English in both Israel and the United States, retiring in 1973 from the New York City school system. She spent her retirement folk dancing and traveling overseas, visiting many countries that included Nepal, New Guinea, Turkey, China and Russia. Surviving are her longtime partner, Sam Kron; a daughter and son-in-law, Dara and Martin Perfit; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
