Seminar to explain process of overseas adoption

Families Thru International Adop­tion, a not-for-profit child placement agency, will hold a free seminar on adoption, Dec. 11 from 7-8:30 p.m., at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick.

FTIA specializes in international adoptions, placing children from seven countries including China, Russia, Guatemala and Brazil. Inter­ested future parents will gain a bet­ter understanding of the interna­tional adoption process, including how long the adoption process takes, the steps that must be completed in order to adopt internationally, costs involved in adopting from various countries, a general overview of cul­tural differences involved when adopting from abroad, and informa­tion on the children available for adoption.
