First Washington State Bank recently hosted a grand opening celebration at its newest location in the Ryan Road Plaza, Route 79 and Ryan Road, Marlboro.

Members of the community, state and township officials, and bank officers gathered to watch Mayor Matthew Scannapieco cut the ribbon, and to participate in the official opening of the bank’s new Marlboro office.

The ribbon used for the grand opening was made of currency and represented the donations the bank presented during the evening’s festivities to representatives of the Marlboro Fire Department and First Aid Squad.

First Washington State Bank is headquartered in Windsor and has branch offices in Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean counties, and plans to open its 16th office in Lawrenceville in the first quarter of 2004.

Richard Champagne, D.M.D., of Morganville, has been recognized as an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Champagne is one of only 340 dentists who hold this membership. He maintains a practice at 25 Kilmer Drive, Suite 218, Marlboro.

To qualify for associate fellowship, Champagne completed 300 hours of post-doctoral instruction in implant dentistry, performed implant cases, and passed the academy’s associate fellow examination. The examination, which is conducted by a panel of implant dentists, included a written examination, a series of oral examinations, and defense of three implant cases that he had completed.

Trinity Financial Sports & Entertainment Management Co. LLC, Millstone, announced that 20-year veteran sports broadcaster Jim Hunter has joined the company’s advisory board. Hunter is in his eighth year as a member of the Baltimore Orioles and WBAL Radio broadcast team, and brings to the booth 24 years of broadcasting experience that ranges from Major League Baseball to the NFL to the Olympic Games.

Hunter, 45, came to Baltimore from CBS Radio Sports, where he had been since 1982. He has been a member of the network’s "Game of the Week" announcing team since 1986.

Hunter is a 1977 graduate of St. John Vianney High School, Holmdel, and was inducted into the school’s athletic Hall of Fame in 1994. He attended Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, and is a 1982 graduate of Seton Hall University, South Orange. In 1998 he received the Radio/TV Media Excellence Award from the New Jersey Sportswriters Association. He resides in Fallston, Md., with his wife, Bonnie, and three children.
