Business Briefs Salvation Army launches online giving programs

The Salvation Army, Union, has announced that two new online giving programs are available on its Web site, www.salvationarmynewjersey.org. "Angel Giving Tree" and "Ring2Help" will allow residents to support the less fortunate during the holiday season.

The Angel Tree program, seen in malls and stores, is also available online at the N.J. Division Web site. The site allows residents to shop for a needy child, with toys mailed to the local Salvation Army center for distribution.

To support the Red Kettle campaign, visitors to the site have the opportunity to become "virtual bell ringers" and host their own red kettle through a customized Web site. Bell ringers are able to electronically collect donations from friends, family and co-workers. The personal kettle site tracks all donations and provides the kettle owner with real-time results.

For more information, call Tricia Pellegrini at Divisional Headquarters, (908) 851-8227, or log on to www.salvationarmynewjersey.org.

‘Adopt-A-Company’ sponsored by Goodwill

Goodwill Industries announced that they will be taking over the administration of Adopt-A-Company.

A major sponsor of this program, Goodwill helped to recover and rebuild after Sept. 11. by providing free assistance and mentorship to businesses devastated by the attacks.

Adopt-A-Company was the brainchild of Logistic Solutions, Inc., a mid-sized Piscataway, New Jersey technology firm that worked with the New York Economic Development Corporation to make this unique idea a reality.
