Kimball Medical Center officially opened the doors to its new Hospitality Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Dec. 4. The ribbon was cut by incoming Auxiliary Council President Betty Aptekar of Lakewood. The newly established Hospitality Center was designed to provide patients and visitors a pleasant, comfortable area to wait or meet with patients.

Part of the Hospitality Center is furnished with cafe-style tables and chairs, where visitors can enjoy a variety of beverages and snacks from the vending area. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these refreshments will directly benefit Kimball Medical Center Foundation.

The Kimball Medical Foundation held a grand opening and ribbon cutting Dec. 9 for its newest thrift shop, Kimball Closet, located in Romeo’s Plaza at 10 South Prospect Road in Jackson. It is Kimball Medical Center Foundation’s third thrift shop. The other two thrift shops are the Lots for Little in Lakewood and the Treasure Chest in Lakehurst.

The thrift shops provide an opportunity for area residents to donate "almost new" items, and for the community members to shop for clothing, household items and furniture at reasonable prices. Proceeds from the thrift shops go to the Kimball Medical Center Foundation, which fund health-care improvements and expansions for Kimball Medical Center.
