Police probe stabbing

WOODBRIDGE

WOODBRIDGE — A 16-year-old male was allegedly assaulted and stabbed in the parking lot of Denny’s on St. Georges Avenue at 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 11

According to the police report, the Avenel resident and some friends were leaving Denny’s and walking across the rear parking lot, when they were attacked by four older males who were standing by a gold-colored vehicle.

One of the men, a black male with long, braided hair who was wearing tan sweats, allegedly approached the victim as he was walking by and punched him in the mouth.

According to police, when the victim responded to the punch, he was tapped on the shoulder by one of the other men and was stabbed or cut on the forearm as he turned around.

The victim was unable to give the police a description of the man who stabbed him. However, in addition to the black male who punched him, the group of men by the car was allegedly composed of two white males and another black male.

According to police, no words were exchanged between the suspects and the victim.

All four suspects reportedly fled the scene in the gold vehicle.

The victim was treated for a laceration on his left forearm at Rahway Hospital and released.

Detectives are investigating the incident.
