Albert Bavolar, 83, of Monroe died, Friday, Jan. 2, at Applegarth Care Center in Monroe.
Mr. Bavolar was born in Pennsylvania and lived in New York City for many years before moving to Monroe in 2002. He was an elevator operator for Cross and Brown Freight Elevator Operators in New York City for many years. He was an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Laura; two sons, Jeffrey Bavolar of Long Island and Jule Kaminsky of New York City; a daughter, Helen Zukowski of North Brunswick; three brothers, Andrew, Michael and Stephen Bavolar of New York City; a sister, Mary Tibbetts of New York City; five grandchildren, Lindsay, Caitlin, Lance, Lisa and Gregory; and three great-grandchildren, Daniel, Zackary and Jennie.
Services were held Monday, Jan. 5, at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St., Somerset. A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church in North Brunswick. Burial followed at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.
