WW-P school board seeking candidates

   Persons interested in filing a petition to run for election to the West Windsor-Plainsboro Board of Education face a 4 p.m. March 1 deadline to register. The election will be held April 20.
   A School Board Candidate Kit can be obtained from the central office, 505 Village Road. Published by the New Jersey School Boards Association, the package includes information on legal qualifications, campaign procedures, the role of the school board member, the New Jersey School Ethics Act and important dates in the election process.
   Candidates must be able to read and write, hold citizenship and one year’s residency in the school district, have no interest in any contract with or claim against the board, not hold office as mayor or member of the municipal governing body and be registered to vote in the district.
   Candidates must obtain the signatures of at least 10 qualified voters in the district and file the petition at least 50 days prior to the election.
