Volunteers helpful to Red Cross efforts

On Sunday, Jan. 11, the Disaster Action Team of the Greater Somerset County Chapter of the American Red Cross responded with local fire, rescue and law enforcement to a fire in Hillsborough.
Sixteen families residing in the Beekman Garden apartments were affected.
I would like to thank our DAT team members who rushed to the scene to provide immediate disaster assistance to the families. From handing out personal supplies and food, providing medical assistance, providing vouchers for emergency supplies or providing counseling and information about agencies providing assistance, these volunteers were essential in delivering a successful relief operation.
On behalf of the Greater Somerset County Chapter of the American Red Cross I offer special thanks to the Hillsborough Police Department, the Office of Emergency Management, the Hillsborough Fire Department and others from surrounding areas, the Hillsborough Rescue Squad and others from surrounding areas, Somerset Medical Center, Arlene and Richard Sroczynski, Lynn Askew, Ken Heaphy, Judi Omson, Patrick O’Donnell, Sue Vineyard, Ann Marie Lewis, Connie Donato, Michael and Marilynn Fiure, Tom Finley, Carl Utberg, Frederic Steffens and Marianne Runco.
The time and effort you gave during this crisis was a great contribution to the families affected by the fire, the Red Cross, and the community.
thank you for your commitment to our organization.
