Monmouth doctor named chair of institute

Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, has named Smitha Gollamudi, M.D., as chair of its Institute for Advanced Radiation Oncology. The Red Bank resident is the physician partner of former chair, Adam Raben, M.D.

Under her leadership, the department will embark on an expansion project to introduce new technology in radiation therapy and CT scanning. Prior to joining Monmouth, Gollamudi was at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York City.

She received her Bachelor of Arts degree at Brown University, Providence, R.I., and her medical degree at its medical school.
